功夫茶 'Gong Fu Cha' Tea Service

Our single-origin teas are available to try in a Chinese-style of pouring called 功夫茶 "Gong Fu Cha", or more poetically "the way of tea". The origins of this tea practice date back to at least the 1400s. Utilizing a unique set of teaware, Gong Fu Cha was created to create a sense of presence and an observance of the natural elements at play while brewing tea.

We do not consider this "tea ceremony" as every practitioner can and should find their own style, however the somatic and ritualistic nature of the practice makes it a wonderful way to take time and be present with your senses.

Our Gong Fu Cha tea sessions are curated selections of teas from our single-origin menu, served Chinese style with a gaiwan, with multiple pours of each tea and storytelling about our tea partners, tea culture, brewing techniques and Q&A. Includes 10% off any product purchases on the day.

While we are walk-in-friendly for tastings, we highly recommend booking in advance. Email us at contact@twotreesteahouse.com to inquire about a reservation during any of our opening hours.
